My Happiness List

The first sip of my daily cup of coffee. Is it weird that I look forward to this every single night when I go to sleep?

A bowl of oatmeal overflowing with blueberries and peanut butter. See above.

My six-times-a-week barre classes at my local studio. It’s one of the warmest, most welcoming places you could find and it’s my happy place. There are friendly faces when you walk in the door, super talented dancer teachers, and the kind of hard work that makes your life a million times better.

A glass of red wine and a bowl of french fries while laughing and sharing stories with my best friends. Yup, literally a bowl of french fries. Not only do I usually enjoy my fave guilty food pleasure, fries, once a week but one of my favourite bars has a “french fry bowl” in the appetizer section. I love when people call it like they see it.

Writing all afternoon with Taylor Swift/Justin Bieber/Carly Rae Jepsen/Hilary DuffOkay, not exactly with them, but wouldn’t that be awesome?

A shiny new cookbook. Reading it with a hot cup of coffee on a weekend afternoon.

The Real Housewivespretty much any city. Enough said.

The latest Netflix craze that really is as good as everyone says. Some examples: LoveGrace and FrankieMaster Of NoneBloodlineMaking A Murderer.

My dream apartment that I’m moving into next week. It’s got a beautiful view, a huge kitchen, an office area and, oh yeah, did I mention a huge kitchen? It also has a kitchen island that Joanna Gaines would die for.

A few weeks in a sunny beach townGrowing up, we spent the month of December in Sanibel Island, Florida and the memories are sweeter than a gluten-filled, white sugar cake (some food allergy humour there). I love that it’s still the same charming beach town, all these years later.

When a TV show I’m obsessed gets a new season order. So I can watch a few more episodes, get super frustrated, and only keep watching for the Vulture recaps.

Taking food photos in my mind that work out in real life, too.

Catfish: The TV Show. Or Nev and Max, to be totally honest.

Memories of my grandpa that make it seem like he’s here. Because he is.

Weekends in Kingston and its adorable small town, Stars Hollow-esque quality. My grandma lives in an awesome apartment on the water there.

Burgers with bacon and guac and fries. Not fries on the burger. Although that sounds awesome.

Just the fact that Jared Leto exists. Same goes for the rest of my celeb crushes: James Franco and Taylor Kitsch (swoon).

Doing what I love for a living. Writing stories about health, pop culture, TV, and dating. Editing stories about similar topics. Coming up with story ideas on a daily basis.

  1. Oatmeal and coffee in the morning and workout clothes all the time… yes! Playing with my cat, hiking in my beautiful state (Minnesota), and harvesting fresh veggies from the garden also make me happy. 🙂
