#throwbackthursday: Honey Ginger Smoothie

I have a soft spot for ginger cookies. So I’m sharing a version of the classic ginger cookie today: my Honey Ginger Smoothie.


Sometimes my baking memories are kind of blurry. I’ve mentioned on this blog before that I used to think that my mom and I made strawberry whole wheat muffins all the time… and, oops, we just made them once.

So I can’t really be totally honest about how many times I made ginger cookies as a kid or teenager. In my unreliable mind, I swear I made them a lot.


Ginger cookies are so cool because they’re not something that you think you would love at first glance. After all, ginger is a super strong flavour, right? Ginger cookies aren’t as sweet or popular as your regular old sugar cookies. That’s why I like them so much. They’re just a bit different, just a bit unique, but still evoke a ton of nostalgia and holiday memories.

Since ginger and honey are such a classic combo, I thought they would make a great smoothie. And they totally do.

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  1. Mix your ingredients together into a blender until smooth and creamy.
