#throwbackthursday: Strawberry Milkshake

Who doesn’t love a good old strawberry milkshake?

For some reason, I always associate this drink with McDonald’s. I can’t remember if I actually had it from there when I was a kid, but I have a strong memory of enjoying it with some chicken fingers and fries at least once. Maybe I’m remembering something that never even happened! But it still seems like a pretty good food memory.

Today I’m bringing back the strawberry milkshake… but dairy-free and sugar-free, of course!

This Strawberry Milkshake uses fresh strawberries and almond milk as the base, but you could use any non-dairy milk that you want. It’s got rolled oats and hemp seeds for some healthy carbs and fats, and as a bonus, those ingredients make the smoothie super thick and creamy. It’s basically a sugar-free dream.

I can’t believe it’s already the end of July. Anyone else feel that way?! They always say that time flies when you’re having fun and that’s definitely been true for me this summer. Between moving to my new apartment around Canada Day, blogging, writing, editing, and finding time for my friends and the many TV shows I’m watching right now (Cheer SquadAmerican GothicStranger Things…), there’s a lot going on right now, which is always great. Tomorrow I’m heading to Kingston to visit my grandma for a few days. She lives in a beautiful apartment on the water that’s super close to the adorable downtown. It’s basically Stars Hollow, so I’m excited for that.

  1. I’ve… never actually had a strawberry milkshake before! *gasp* But this one looks wonderful and filling in the best way. I love super thick and creamy smoothies/milkshakes/drinks; none of that watery juice nonsense. 😛

So I started Game of Thrones with a friend back in May but haven’t watched an episode in over a month now! I guess that’s what I’m watching, but I need to be a more dedicated watcher if I’m ever going to get past season one, haha.

    1. Thank you so much! I’m with you, I don’t think I’ve ever had a juice! Smoothies all the way.

That’s one show I’ve never tried, so you’re further along than me haha.
